Wesley is a Seattle based director, producer, event manager, community organizer, and administrative professional.

BIO

A native Texan, Wesley relocated to Seattle in late 2013 after living in NYC for 8 years. In NYC, he founded Forward Flux Productions, a company that he has now moved to Seattle. With Forward Flux, he produced and directed the movement sequences for the premiere production of A SMALL HISTORY OF AMAL, AGE 7 by Lindsay Joelle; produced and directed the west coast premiere of NO MORE SAD THINGS; GREEN WHALES (Top Ten in Seattle, 2015 – Jetspace); the west coast premiere of THE WEDDING GIFT (Seattle); the world premieres of STILL LIFE and THE SUMMER HOUSE including extensive development (Seattle);  conceived, wrote and directed the FringeNYC 2012 hit play FRIENDANDY.COM (HERE Arts Center, NYC); conceived, developed and directed the 21 day artist residency collaborate create (5 cycles in NYC, 3 in Seattle / over 120 artists have participated in the program); commissioned, developed and produced the world premiere play with music LAS MARIPOSAS Y LOS MUERTOS (Seattle); produced the world premiere play ROBOT SONGS in NYC, directed by Patrick Pearson; and conceived, produced and directed The Flux Salon new works series (20 Salons complete – directing / development credits include KIN by Chisa Hutchinson, HOOKMAN by Lauren Yee, GOOSE by Michael Yichao, more). He hosted and co-produced the “Live from The Flux Salon” podcast (7 episodes).

He has also directed for 14/48 – the world’s quickest theatre festival, and co-created and directed THE GRIEF DIALOGUES play (Seattle: 18th & Union, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art / NYC: Dramatists Guild National Conference) and OUT OF TIME (Bainbridge Performing Arts Center) for The Grief Dialogues project, a national theater movement to start a conversation on death, dying and grief. Wesley is the founding Artistic Advisor for The Grief Dialogues, and continues to serve on that project. Elsewhere, Wesley has assistant directed SILENCE at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, worked as a teaching artist for the Alley Theatre, and directed GODSPELL and assistant directed SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ at Sam Houston State University.

In addition, Wesley spent five consecutive years performing on stages around the country. Select credits include: Ryan in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (Jenny Wiley Theatre), Action in WEST SIDE STORY (Little Theatre on the Square), Henry in RED BADGE OF COURAGE (Main Street Theatre), GUYS AND DOLLS (Prather Entertainment Group – Tour), A CHRISTMAS CAROL (National Tour), and NEITHER HEAVEN NOR EARTH (Off-Broadway).

Wesley has a diverse corporate work background ranging from the public to private sectors, and he spent four years in Seattle as a consultant at williamsworks, a social impact strategy firm, supporting the CEO. In NYC, his most recent position was at Ralph Lauren as Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Merchandising. He has also worked as a Personal Assistant, and as lead Event Planner on countless events, including events for Radio Silence, The Schultz Family Foundation, Hillary Clinton, Donna Karan, WebMD, Lin-Manuel Miranda among others.

 

Wesley holds a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Speech Communications from Sam Houston State University.
